  A Moment of Silence, Please
[ 04/25/10 by Mhaddy  Link to this newspost. ]

Amidst our Chevy news, I ask that you take a moment to read the following from Jim and Heather James and please include Brenda in your thoughts.

Dear Classic Chevy Friends,

As some of you will know Heather and I have two daughters, one of which is 47 year old Brenda (Howes). Brenda has had a good, mostly healthy, non-smoker life until about a month ago her world, and our's collapsed. Brenda has asthma and while going through a particularly bad bout last month, she went to the hospital. Part of the examination involved a chest x-ray which revealed a devastating find. Brenda not only had a collapsed lung, but it was badly invaded with cancer. Further tests showed that the cancer had spread to her brain as well as her adrenal gland. Without going into a lot of detail, suffice it to say that with chemotherapy and radiation therapy, the dire outlook has not improved at all. As, perhaps you can imagine, we are in absolute shock, particularly since this has 'come out of nowhere'.

Friends, I do not tell you this asking for your sympathy, but instead that you join us in praying for our Brenda. We belief that with a huge cry from us 'mere mortals', that, The Almighty' will hear our plea and spare her from this awful plight or at the very least ease her passing. If you can, please put her husband Brian and their 14 year old son in your prayers as well.

  The Music City Chevy Show
[ 04/25/10 by Mhaddy  Link to this newspost. ]

If you're going to be in the Nashville, Tennessee area around July 8th, Jim James brings word of a car event that you may want to check out:

Nashville Tn. is a favourite vacation spot for a lot of people and we can offer an excellent vacation trip of interest for the whole family. By including such things as discounted price on accommodation and free shuttle service to all attractions can make an otherwise unaffordable trip, a reality. Not to mention a first rate car show as well!

I would like to ask you to send out this flyer to all of these folks, noting my name as a contact person for any additional information they may wish. I know of 3-4 families ( Members?) who will be making the trip, should anyone wish to travel along with others as opposed to going on their own.

We can be reached at this e-mail address for another 5-6 weeks as well as by phone at 352-797-5217. Beyond that time, my Hamilton address and phone no. remains as before.
For more information, please check out the flyer.

  We're Back!
[ 12/20/09 by Mhaddy  Link to this newspost. ]

After a much, much longer outage than expected, the Canadianclassicchevy.com site is back online. I won't bore you with the technical details but suffice to say, getting the site operational took a little bit of work and I'm thankful that it is now live again.

In early 2010, I will be putting a new site together with more community-driven features that will allow you (our members!) to contribute to the content and make the site a more interactive place to visit.

In the interim, if you have any suggestions or would like to help out, please let me know.

[ 08/01/09 by Mhaddy  Link to this newspost. ]

CCFR2009This year we're in Woodstock, a return from about 10 years ago when the show was here in the late 1990's. We've had great weather on Friday and we're promised even better today for our big cruise. Last night we went to Coast to Coast mini golf and everyone had a blast. More to come as the event progresses.
